There are so many more places to trek across the Himalaya. Below are only a few other places you may like to consider trekking:
- Gokyo – in the valley west of Everest, there is the wonderful Gokyo Lake (with cappuccino machine and bakery) with Gokyo Ri (hill) which has spectacular views at sunrise and sunset. To get to the Everest valley, you trek over the Cho La (pass) at 5,357 metres.
- Langtang – north of Kathmandu towards the Tibet (China) border with lots of ups and downs (including Tserko Ri (or pass) at 4,984 metres)
- Manaslu – located closer to the Tibetan (Chinese) border from the Annapurnas, the highest part is Larke Pass at 5,115 metres
- Upper Mustang – located in the western part of Nepal, it has more barren landscapes and is more remote but equally as beautiful
- Upper Dolpo – located further north west than Mustang, it is remote area and will require around four days to get the area
- Kanchenjunga – in the far east of Nepal (near the Indian border) with Mt Kanchenjunga and Mt Makalu, the world’s 3rd and 5th highest mountains in the world around you.
There are also shorter hikes and walks around the Kathmandu valley eg near Nagarkot.
